Description
Behind the Blend
We developed the Coastal Forest Leather Balm because we believe your gear should be as durable as the adventures it carries you through. Inspired by the misty, salt-sprayed forests of the Pacific West Coast, we saw a need for a heavy-duty defense system that could handle the unique moisture and grit of the Sea-to-Sky corridor. Our intent was to combine the deep-conditioning longevity of olive oil with the protective shield of our signature beeswax, ensuring your leather remains supple and guarded against the elements for years to come.
Benefits
- The Coastal Shield (Pure Beeswax): Our signature beeswax creates a natural, breathable barrier that sheds water, prevents salt stains, and protects against the elements. It acts as a durable, heavy-duty gasket to lock in moisture while keeping external grit and grime out.
- Fiber Restoration (Extra Virgin Olive Oil): High-grade olive oil penetrates deep into the leather hide to replenish essential lipids. This prevents the drying and cracking common in rugged environments, ensuring your boots, bags, and saddles stay supple and flexible.
- Forest Infused (Eucalyptus): Scented with crisp Eucalyptus, providing a clean, coastal forest aroma inspired by the Sea-to-Sky corridor. This botanical infusion offers natural antimicrobial protection to help keep your gear fresh during high-performance use.

The Flight Path
- The Everyday Essential (Accessories): Keep your leather belts, wallets, and watch straps supple and salt-resistant. Regular application maintains the internal moisture of the hide, preventing the brittleness and cracking that occurs when accessories transition from the damp outdoors to the dry heat of your home.
- The Alpine Defense (Outdoor Gear): A vital treatment for high-performance equipment like leather climbing gloves, knife sheaths, and equestrian tack. By nourishing the leather, this balm ensures your gear remains pliable and durable, even after repeated exposure to heavy rain and high-altitude UV.
In the Pacific Northwest, moisture is the greatest challenge to leather longevity. Use this guide to ensure your gear remains as resilient as the forest itself.
The Workshop Ritual (Home & Shop): This balm extends its protection to the tools of your trade. Use it to seal wooden tool handles against splintering or to nourish leather furniture, providing a protective barrier that stands up to the varying humidity of West Coast living.Â
The Coastal Trekker (Footwear): Specifically formulated for the damp realities of the Sea-to-Sky corridor, this balm is essential for hiking boots and work boots. It penetrates deep into the fibers to create a water-resistant seal that prevents the rot and salt-staining caused by muddy trails and winter slush.

Directions
- Clean Wipe away any loose dirt, mud, or dust with a damp cloth. Ensure the leather is completely dry before applying the balm.
- Apply Using a soft, lint-free cloth or your fingers, scoop a small amount of balm. Work it into the leather using firm, circular motions. The warmth of your hands will help the oils penetrate the pores of the hide.
- Set Allow the balm to sit for 10–20 minutes. You will notice the leather “drinking” in the oils, often taking on a richer, deeper tone.
- Buff Use a clean cloth or a horsehair brush to buff the surface vigorously. This removes any excess wax and leaves a beautiful, low-luster “coastal shine.”
- Repeat For maximum waterproofing, apply a second thin coat to the seams and welts of your boots. Reapply every few months or after heavy exposure to rain and mud.
Ingredients
Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Cera Alba (Beeswax), Eucalyptus Globulus (Eucalyptus) Leaf Oil, Charcoal Powder (black balm), Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Shell Powder (brown balm).
Our Regenerative Promise
When you choose the Coastal Forest Leather Balm, you are opting into a closed-loop system that goes beyond “sustainability.” We don’t just aim to reduce our footprint; we work to actively heal the landscapes we call home.
- Pollinator First, Always: Every jar sold directly funds the maintenance of our Paradise Valley apiaries. By supporting Bee Wild, you are providing forage and habitat for local honeybees and native pollinators, ensuring the biodiversity of the Squamish valley remains vibrant.
- Natural & Raw Ingredients: We prioritize “slow,” earth-derived ingredients. From the hops we grow to deter hive mites to the beeswax that forms our protective shield, every element is harvested with respect for the seasonal cycles of the Pacific Northwest and remains free of synthetic fillers.
